Holton-Hooker Learning and Living Center

Grand Valley State University started construction in May 2015 on a residence hall and academic building, a move that will free space as more students seek on-campus housing.

The building with be approximately 145,000 square feet. It will accommodate 498 students in tradition-style bedroom units. It also will feature laundry facilities, a game room, outdoor recreational space and an Einstein's Bagel food service. The building also will feature several academic spaces as a "living learning center," including study and lounge areas, three classrooms, a computer lab, media room and three faculty offices.

Along with the new student housing building, Erhardt will renovate three existing residence halls that are located near the larger project.

Project completion is scheduled to be finished by August 2016. The new residence hall project will seek LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
