    Holland Home Cook Nursing Center

Erhardt constructed the new 4-story wing at Holland Home’s Raybrook Campus. Named the Cook Wing, it ties the existing Cook Nursing Center into Raybrook Estates II. It houses an open activities area on the first floor that is used for physical therapy. The second, third and fourth floors each house 17 resident rooms, dining and activity areas, and therapy rooms.

The Cook Wing is perfectly sandwiched between Cook Nursing and Raybrook Estates II. The match between the facilities is so precise it is difficult to decipher where the old buildings end and the new begins.

The location and layout of the new facility required coordination at all levels. The construction site was limited to the building footprint, so coordination of material deliveries was crucial as space was at a premium. It was also crucial to coordinate construction activities with the owner’s schedule as the campus and neighboring facilities remained fully operational during the entire construction process.
