Sustainable Buildings

Sophia's House at Mercy Health Saint Mary's

The project included the complete renovation of all four floors of the guest house. Accommodations include 15 guest rooms with private baths, a kitchen, family area, laundry facilities, exercise facilities and a business center. Comfortable accommodations include TVs, Wi-Fi, a Wii gaming system, lounge areas with books and games, a laundry room and an outdoor patio and small garden.
Sophia’s House opened in July of 2012, designed to comfortably accommodate patients and family members of patients who are traveling from more than 30 miles away. The guest house serves as a home away from home, conveniently positioned across the street from Mercy Health Saint Mary's Health Care.

Erhardt worked with the Historic Preservation Commission to uphold the historic features of the building and maintain the original design intent from the mid 1900’s.

The project obtained LEED Gold Certification™ from the U.S. Green Building Council, one level higher than originally anticipated.
