Erhardt Construction recently completed a laboratory expansion for Haviland Enterprises, enhancing their chemical R&D facility expansion with the capabilities to support continued growth in the chemical manufacturing industry.

The project began with the demolition of an existing warehouse to make room for the new Research & Development facility and expanded parking. Erhardt worked closely with the design-build team to address complex infrastructure needs, including safe chemical transfer routes, integration of emergency safety systems, and tapping into existing water and electrical utilities connected to the main headquarters.

The new laboratory includes a Wet Lab / R&D Lab, Analytical Lab, Salt Spray Room, Pilot Lab, Chemical Storage and Gas Room, Shipping & Receiving Dock, and Open Office Space.

This state-of-the-art chemical research facility positions Haviland to stay ahead in a growing market by expanding lab capacity and supporting multiple business sectors, including surface finishing, wastewater treatment, and contract chemical manufacturing.
