Erhardt Construction served as Construction Manager/General Contractor for the transformation of MLK Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan—enhancing public access to health, wellness, and recreational amenities through strategic municipal park construction. The redevelopment included a new 24,200-square-foot lodge and a 4,327-square-foot pool house, creating a modern, year-round community destination.

 

The multi-phase project was carefully coordinated to support ongoing park operations, with the pool house completed in June 2025 in time for the summer season. Designed for high-volume use, the facility includes updated locker rooms, showers, and staff spaces to support aquatic programming. Construction of the lodge followed, delivering a new community hub featuring a full gymnasium, fitness center, multipurpose and event spaces, and administrative offices.

 

In addition to the new buildings, the project included significant site improvements such as walkways, utilities, a playground, and outdoor fitness areas—expanding recreational opportunities for the surrounding neighborhood. Through proactive coordination, strong subcontractor collaboration, and a solution-driven approach, Erhardt Construction successfully delivered a high-quality facility that will serve the Grand Rapids community for years to come.
