Synagogue Renovation Project
Temple Emanuel
Grand Rapids, MI
2,500 SF | Construction Renovation + Addition
Erhardt Construction partnered with Temple Emanuel to complete a comprehensive synagogue renovation project, including a modern foyer addition and upgrades throughout the facility. The new foyer features large windows and a sleek, contemporary design, while exterior masonry ties the new addition seamlessly to the existing structure.
Interior improvements included a handicap-accessible elevator, updated restrooms, and a spacious community gathering area. Former classrooms were converted into private offices and administrative spaces, while the multi-purpose room, library, classrooms, and hallways received fresh paint, new flooring, cabinetry, and updated lighting to create a cohesive and welcoming environment.
The synagogue renovation project also included a full re-roof with new drains, soffits, and fascia. Exterior enhancements—such as new landscaping, irrigation, sidewalks, and storm drains—improved accessibility and curb appeal. Upgrades to HVAC and mechanical systems further enhanced comfort and energy efficiency.
Completed in just eleven months, this project revitalized the worship facility, equipping it to better serve the needs of its congregation and community for years to come.
