Erhardt Construction completed Grand Valley State University’s newest addition, the Lubbers Stadium Amenities addition. Unveiled for the 2024 football season, the 13,000-square-foot sports facility expansion includes a north concessions stand, new restrooms, and an upper viewing deck with a beer garden.

The two-story structure was constructed using concrete, precast panels, and masonry techniques. It features two expansive rooftop canopies that cover two-thirds of the roof deck, offering a prime viewing area. The rooftop also includes a bar, radiant heaters, and CCTV screens for live streaming.

On the ground level, the newly built facility for higher education features a four-window concessions stand, a prep kitchen with a walk-in cooler, and additional restrooms along the west elevation. These restrooms enhance the stadium’s ability to meet capacity requirements for record-setting attendance.

Additionally, a new elevator provides ADA-compliant access to the roof deck, complemented by an ADA ramp connecting the press box and President’s Suite.

The project was completed on time for the 2024 football season, prioritizing safety as the Laker football team began practicing ahead of their first game.
