GRPS OTTAWA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL

GRPS OTTAWA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL

Erhardt served as construction manager for the GRPS Ottawa Hills High School seven phase, 300,000-square-foot renovation and 5,000-square-foot addition. The project started in April 2019 and finished on time in July 2020 despite a seven-week shutdown due to COVID-19. The seven phases included architectural interior renovations throughout the building, a full renovation of classrooms and gymnasium, a repurpose of the cafeteria /corridors and a light refresh of large gathering spaces. We also built a two-story entrance and administrative addition.

The project’s focus was to spend the owner’s funds in the most beneficial way possible. Lighting was replaced to reduce the building’s energy load and operational costs. Outdated mechanical equipment was replaced for better operating efficiencies, reducing the constant repairs and adjustments that GRPS personnel were making on a daily basis. In order to keep the project phases on schedule ECC worked with subcontractors to review upcoming work, present problems and find different solutions with the architect and owner, ensuring the most cost-effective solution was implemented.
